Hi, I've got a leaking toyota Aygo. My poor kids got into the car to go to school, and the back seat was soaked, but only on the top. There are no water marks on the roof. Im assuming it's the windows/doors. Please can you tell me where you got the seals for the doors from and which type it is that I would need? Your link doesn't work anymore. Many thanks

The foot wells on my 2014 Aygo seem dry after owning it for the last 2 months. I dont want to go to all the trouble of disturbing the carpet if it isn't leaking there. Why do i ask if you cant see anything definite there, because underneath i seem to feel like there is a plastic ? So all im asking is, if there is a definite leak down there it would have shown its self there anyway by now do yu think? What i have noticed today after all the rain is the rear light lens have started to fog up a little so in your opinion would you agree that's the place to start!?

Some harsh comments. This fix will be for the symton of car not turning over, no clicking sound front right of engine on turnover and no single clunk sound from the starter on tunring key to start. For clunk - hit the starter moteor with a piece of wood. It it then starts you eventually need a new starter motor. For clicking... earth strap to engine is likley shot (test by applying jumper lead from Negative battery terminal to engine block ONLY) OR fuse box it corroded somewhere - pull the connectors and look for verdigris on them - clean as appropriate For turnover no start - check/clean crank sensor, or pull the appropriate Engine Control Module relay and swap it for another (non critical and similalry rated) relay from the block. That will cover 95% of issues I think.

After two years of research I have found the source of the back footwell leak. It was coming from the front glass window on my Peugeot 107. In my case was not the rubber seal around the door but the sweep trim seal on the glass. Water then used to trickle in from inside the door and fall from the base of the plastic panel right on the top of the door seal, fooling anybody and leading to think water gets in from the door rubber seal. If you have the leak and do not remove the plastic front door panel you cannot understand if it is coming from the rubber seal or the trim sweep seal glass window

What if it's only in the trunk/boot? I had a flat tire the other day and noticed the carpeting was soaked with water, with mold at some points. I washed it and it's fine now but there's still water. Not sure but it seems like it comes from the left side and I'm suspecting the back lights.

The key is the wavelengt of the radiation. The brighter ones use the input power to produce more visible light and less infrared. Both end up as heat, but only infrared is radiant heat, the rest of it heats the air wich is flying away upwards filling the room, and not the objects in front of it. The more reddish uses the mejotiry of it's 400W to emit infrared radiation, wich can travel to the object without wasting to heat the air between. (If the goal is room heating, both are equal.)

Just completed my own DIY ceiling so big thanks nuttyprof11. Previously the room ( lantern shaped glazed pitched roof approx 4mtr x 2mtr) was freezing in winter and red hot in summer plus the glaring sun made the room on occasion un-usable. Pretty much followed your guidance, with following, which may help others. 1. Used frosted peel on sheet to hide superquilt / battons only where visible ( £10 ebay) 2. Self tapping screws needed on first layer of battons (£3) Take advice from upvc supplier. 3 Ensure battons & retaining trim follow upvc struts exactly ( £30) 4 Plan refitting of roof braces, suggest threaded rod into existing fixings 5 Plan how high point will be finished off plus fixings for item 4 6. Super quilt works brilliantly (£95) but should have bought a big stapler 7. You MUST tape seal superquilt to upvc, NO gaps or you will suffer condensation in the void 8. 3 plank upvc cladding & associated trims etc ( £80 ) simply to hacksaw cut 9. 2 man job to fit planking into retaining trim, last side should be a long side ( spring) 10 Buy / borrow a quality battery drill and a small battery screwdriver & correct sized bits for the screws to be used, its hard graft having your arms above your head for 2 1/2 days Cant describe the improvement in temperature control, heater was on max before which didn't touch it, now rarely use, and also quite chuffed how it looks, finally would report the official quotation of £2500 wasn't used as I installed for less than £250 and no it doesn't look like a crappy diy job! Good luck, anyone want one doing, my price would be £2450!!!!
